Arabic is one of great world languages spoken on several continents. This Modern Standard Arabic course builds on the skills and knowledge gained in Arabic 1 or in previous study. It also provides an enjoyable and easy way to introduce you to the Arabic culture.
Target Audience: Arabic 2 is suitable for those who have either completed Arabic 1 or its equivalent, whether travelling to an Arabic-speaking country to live and/or work, for personal or business reasons, or for personal study.
Learning Objectives: By the end of this course students will have learned:
* How to read Arabic sentences * To become confident in conversing about everyday matters * How to find your way and using the public transport system * More advanced grammar.
Course Format: This course comprises 24 hours of classroom interactive group learning made up of 2-hour sessions over 12 weeks. To reinforce your learning homework is encouraged. There is no formal assessment.
Required Materials: Required text: Read and Speak Arabic for Beginners (Wightwick and Gaafar: McGraw Hill, 2003). This text must be purchased separately and is not included in the course fee.
