The aim of this two-day workshop is to provide an overview of financial accounting, the analysis of financial statements, and an introduction to management accounting.

This workshop addresses a technical skill on our Leadership Competencies Framework.

This workshop provides an overview of the financial accounting process and the reports it generates for shareholders and others. It also explains how management accounting differs from financial accounting and introduces the underlying tools of budgeting, cost behaviour, break-even analysis and reporting to management.

This workshop qualifies for NZ Trade and Enterprise’s Capability Development Voucher Scheme.
Target Audience
This workshop is for non-accountants who seek to improve their understanding of accounting information. It will be invaluable for professionals working in the business, technical or human service areas.

Alan Robb is well known as a stimulating and informative presenter of courses on financial accounting. He taught at the University of Canterbury for many years and is now an adjunct professor at Saint Mary’s University, Canada, where he teaches in an international business programme.

Alan has been a keynote speaker at numerous professional seminars including the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants, Monash University Agribusiness Co-operative Leadership and Governance Forum, and the Commonwealth Association for Corporate Governance.

He is widely respected as an independent and authoritative commentator on accounting issues.
