"Management is, above all, a practice where art, science, and craft meet." Henry Mintzberg

This programme has been designed to help you deepen and enhance your practical management competencies. You will have the opportunity to explore applied management techniques through the analysis of carefully selected case studies and realistic management simulations covering the recognised principles of effective management. During this programme you will be able to test and enhance your practical managerial competency by addressing true scenarios where managerial analysis, decision-making and action need to be accurate, thoughtful and decisive.

As a key module of both the NZIM Diploma in Management - Level 5 and the NZIM Diploma in Management (Advanced) - Level 6, this programme is a core programme to start you on your professional development journey to formal academic recognition.

Learning Outcomes

This two day programme is designed to stretch the boundaries on common management thinking and is designed to be challenging and interactive. You will learn through presentations, simulations, group problem-solving exercises, and a self initiated project. You will be encouraged to participate, debate, develop creative ideas, test your judgment, defend your opinions – so that you will develop confidence to transform knowledge and inspiration into winning performance.

By achieving the key areas of this programme, participants will be able to:
•Identify a managerial problem in an organisation and write a project proposal for the research of possible solutions
•Report on research findings and the application of management concepts and tools in recommending solutions
•Learn how to use the report content as evidence in the application of a range of management concepts and tools
