Overview:
This two-day workshop provides practical tools and knowledge to enhance your Executive Assistant/Personal Assistant skills. The first day is focused on improving you current EA/PA skills. The second day will challenge you to extend your skills into leadership and management functions, and plan the next steps in your career.

This course is designed for both new and experienced EA/Pas to assist those wanting to improve their current skills. It will also prepare you for the future challenges of this role.

-Learn what makes a successful leader and how this can be applied to the workplace

Course Outline:
Day One:
The State of the Profession
-Identify the skills required to enhance your contribution to the management team in this constantly evolving role

Working with Your Manager and other Team Members
-Understand your Manager's behavioural style to assist in improving the relationship with your manager
-Influence your manager, multiple managers and the team to achieve goals
-Ensure systems are in place to manage work between you and your manager

Self Management
-Manage your time more effectively to reduce stress
-Identify the four quadrants of time management so you spend the most time in the quadrant that really counts

Written Communication
-Identify different reporting formats
-Learn how to effectively structure reports

Day Two:
Verbal Communication
-Confidently get your message across when working with the management team
-Solve conflict effectively
-Prepare well for negotiations

Project management
-Learn proven techniques to effectively plan and organise a project through this brief overview
-Problem solving and decision making
-Be able to make good decisions
-Assess and solve problems using well known models

Professional Development
-Where to from here? Criteria to consider when compiling your professional development plan
-Identifying further training for your role

Course Format:
This is an interactive workshop with a maximum of 16 participants. The presenter uses a combination of presentation and activities. The format gives you the opportunity to put your new skills into practice in the workplace before the second session.
