Do you lack confidence in your writing skills? Do you feel frustrated, embarrassed and unsure about the grammar, punctuation and construction of your workplace writing?

Today’s professionals not only need to be competent in their chosen fields, they also need to be competent writers. As technology has advanced, writing skills have declined, leaving competent writers as an élite, minority group.

This workshop provides a practical introduction to the essentials of business writing and is designed for people who may not have had the opportunity to learn or to practise formal writing conventions. It examines the foundations of excellent writing and provides guidance on sound sentence construction that employs accurate grammar, punctuation and spelling. The workshop has an emphasis on writing for the reader in a succinct manner, using plain English.

The workshop is designed to be practical, interactive and stimulating. In order to maximise the effectiveness of the training, we ask you to bring non-commercially sensitive samples of your workplace writing and a laptop to practise new writing skills in the workshop.

This workshop qualifies for NZ Trade and Enterprise’s Capability Development Voucher Scheme.
