Overview:
Leading change in a way that encourages buy-in from all within an organisation is key to a positive change process and outcome.

This one-day workshop uncovers the reasons why leading change can be hard and introduces brain-based tools and techniques for leaders of change.

What do we mean by 'brain-based tools and techniques'? In a nutshell, we apply neuro-scientific understanding of the brain to the art and science of leadership.

Who Should Attend:
Managers who are involved in leading or managing change in organisations.

Learning Objectives:

•Learn how our neurology leads our responses to organisational change.
•Understand tools and techniques to minimise the negative impacts of change and change management.
•Understand tools and techniques to maximise the positive elements of change and change management.
•Practise creating effective change messages and practices.
•Examine brain-based skills to build resilience in change leaders and change participants.
Course Outline:
The course draws on the field of neuroleadership and covers:

•minimising the negative impacts of change
•understanding neurological responses to change
•the role of the leader in modeling change
•the process of change and the role of timing in change processes
•creating change messages that stick
•change and resilience-looking after ourselves and others during change.
Course Format:
The programme is designed around brain-based learning principles and will include theory, discussion, practice and application back in the workplace.

Teachers:
Jennifer McDonald is the founding director of Continuum Consulting Group and runs this workshop for public and private organisations.
She brings a blend of international management and leadership experience along with these development methodologies, to support clients to achieve success at work.
Jennifer holds a Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Victoria University and originally qualified as a Shipbroker in the UK. She is a Certified Trainer and Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and has a Post Graduate Certificate in the Neuroscience of Leadership from Middlesex University, where she is currently enrolled in a Master's programme.

Geoff Summers is an Executive Director with Strategic Pay Limited, with a background in executive level HR in large organisations including Director of HR at Victoria University. He began his working life as a firefighter, a career he successfully pursued for 26 years. He has also been a national trade union secretary.
Geoff is a Certified Trainer and Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). His other qualifications include a Master of Business Administration (with distinction) and a Master of Business Studies in Human Resource Management (with distinction). He is a Fellow of the Human Resources Institute of New Zealand and a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management.
