Overview:
Executive Assistants/Personal Assistants are seeking opportunities to move into management roles.

This interactive one-day course provides an overview of mangement roles and assists those who are, or will be, managing staff and/or budgets.


Who Should Attend:
This course is for current EA/PAs who are new to management, moving into management roles or are expected to complete management tasks.

Course Objectives:
By the end of this course you will:

-Have knowledge and skills to complete common management tasks eg HR and budgets

Examination of the management role
-Identifying what skills and attributes are required to be an effective manager
-Understand the importance of the bigger picture
-Recognise the common pitfalls in management and how to avoid them
-Leadership versus management

Managing an Organisation's Most Important Resource - People
-How to foster effective team work
-Recognising what motivates people and how to deal with flagging motivation
-Undertaking formal and informal performance appraisals - giving encouragement and dealing with unsatisfactory performance
-Managing conflict - using negotiating skills to get at outcome
-Recruitment - development of sound interviewing and selection techniques
-Empowering staff through an eight step delegation process

Managing Budgets
-Critical steps to effective budget management
-How to manage a budget deficit
-Understanding financial statements
-Communication Methods
-Developing superior listening skills to obtain rapport with people
-Recognise diversity in your team and ways to handle this
-Improving Your Performance
-Seeking feedback to increase your performance

Course Format:
This is an interactive workshop with a maximum of 16 participants. The presenter uses a combination of presentation and group activities. You will receive a workbook to takeaway.
