Once critical roles, and potential successors are determined, succession planning only succeeds if those successors are developed to step up. This programme develops the skills needed in potential successors to make a more smooth transition into the critical role when the time comes. It also develops leadership skills and strategic thinking ability.

This workshop is delivered flexibly depending on the needs of the organisation and participants, and usually in conjunction with on-site learning/human resources professionals (if applicable). The most usual delivery is 1/2 - 1 day monthly or two-monthly with individual coaching in between.
Jenni Murphy-Scanlon has over 20 years experience in Learning and Development, Human Resources and Organisational Development roles. She has designed and implemented succession planning processes and development programmes, and trained human resources professionals on the topic. She is the Learning Works (attached to Wintec) expert on Succession Planning and has written a number of articles on the topic of Succession Planning and developing 'High Potentials'. She is the originator of the concept of 'Strategical Savvy' as an Organisational Competency, has developed a proprietary process for teaching strategic thinking and has written numerous articles, reports and an e-book on the topic.
